February Service Project: Night to Shine Atlanta

Our February Service Project has presented itself and it’s a really special treat! The Tim Tebow Foundation has paired up with First Baptist Church of Woodstock to put together a red carpet prom experience for individuals with special needs over the age of 16 (Think: adult prom) called Night to Shine.

Valentines Weekend becomes a real showing of love for those that need it most. The event is scheduled for Friday 2/12/2016 from 6:00 – 9:00pm.

Guests dress their best (but the church is also offering hair and make up artists as well as a few prom dresses and ties for the guests) and are assigned a buddy for the evening to chat with, dance with, etc… All the buddies are required to pass a background test and are given training at the church so everyone feels comfortable. (There will be staff on hand for sanitary assistance as needed.)

Volunteers are also needed with everything from parking to make-up and and every position will get a little training at the church a month prior to the event.

We will discuss this further at the Board Meeting/Home Tour Wrap Up Meeting on 1/5/2016, and again at the New Member Mixer. Please email woodstockjwc@gmail.com if you have any questions.
